The independent Indoor Cycling programs of Heart Zones®, Stage5 Cycling & Cycling Fusion^TM are all being combined into one comprehensive Indoor Cycling program we are calling The Road Map^TM. This system is founded on science, grounded in experience, and progressively positioned for technology advancements. Topics are diverse and specific like:

Cycling Fusion^TM workshops include live classes and practical teaching to insure knowledge retention, ability to deliver, and a personal teaching style that keeps students coming back. These are being configured in such a way that it does not overwhelm, overload or intimidate new instructors, while making sure we do not over-qualify them for advanced classes before they are ready.
If Indoor Cycling is going to bring in the outdoor rider, it must have the credibility that can stand up to the scrutiny new groups are likely to bring. Likewise, it is critical that the indoor-only rider not feel alienated or “left behind”. This balancing act can not be taken lightly, and each Cycling Fusion Instructor is kept mindful of both groups and their respective objectives as each new level is achieved.

Every Indoor Cycling Instructor knows intuitively the value of heart rate training, even if they have not yet been formally trained on the effective use of a heart monitor. Heart Zones® fans and instructors know that value first hand, having put it to personal use with consistent and amazing results year after year. The problem in gaining adoption by students however, has often been blamed on the lack of monitors.
Cycling Fusion^TM will break this stand-off by providing a box of heart rate straps to every club that implements our program at even 50%. Heart Zones® training is a vital part of our overall program, and the Secondary certification level for instructors will equip each instructor to do field tests and structure heart rate classes that are as much fun as they are foundational for fitness.

With the advent of power bikes for the Indoor Cycling market came a flurry of technology that while initially unrelated, now becomes easily adapted and accessible by consumers and instructors alike. Gene Nacey's background in technology and video production creates a unique opportunity to see these two forces come together for a seamless integration into The Road Map^TM. Both software as well as video will play a significant role in the overall program, starting with a first of its kind mobile teaching software for instructors. As the iPod has quickly become the unofficial standard music playback device for Indoor Cycling, in 2011 Cycling Fusion^TM will release Class Builder^TM - one of many industry firsts for harnessing today's technology for today´s Indoor Cycling classes. Our certified instructors and coaches will be our own private beta testers, getting first looks and first uses of all the goodies yet to come!

While this has been "in the works" for quite some time, we are just launching a few sites in 2011, but will be training new instructors throughout the entire year to prepare for a nation-wide impact in 2012.
