The Road MapTM

We call our Indoor Cycling program The Road MapTM for one simple reason; this is a journey. This approach looks at the rider, instructor and facility through the windshield of a long awaited road trip. Each needs a safe way to on-ramp into the program, navigate through the different challenges, and finally arrive at a place never before reached with the previous program.

This approach has been created to provide incentives to pull in riders who belong to the “Did that once, and will never to it again” Club on one side, and those who belong to the “That’s not real cycling” Club on the other side. Appealing to these two completely disparate groups has never worked with the “Everyone can workout together by just using the red knob” approach, yet this approach still persists in most fitness facilities. Together riders and instructors each move through a progressive system of building fitness and learning to teach with purpose and accomplishment at each level. Goals are achieved, and new objectives set - all leading to a long term process that keeps riders, instructors and facilities completely and consistently engaged.

If You Don't Do It Outside...

The end of that sentence should be obvious, but apparently to many it is not. The end of the sentence would state ... "don't do it inside". One of the ways Indoor Cycling went “astray” over the years is from the contraindicated movements that evolved from instructors with too little knowledge, experience and training on true cycling technique. The result was to alienate an entire sub-culture (the outdoor cyclist), and cause chronic injuries along the way. The Road MapTM is designed to create a seamless training environment between both indoor and outdoor riders.

Don't Mix Riding Levels

With The Road MapTM, we do not put beginners with advanced students and expect the student to make the adjustments. Sure, it’s always been done that way, but it has also been responsible for countless “one-timers”; those students who, if they lasted the entire class, vowed to never come back.

We’ve heard everything from it being a “traumatic experience” to “my butt was sore for 2 weeks”. Your members deserve better. All easily avoided with The Road MapTM. Our 30-minute Foundation classes are designed to both attract and keep new riders as long as they are getting what they want and need while having fun.

Digital Classes Are Good Service

Because we want to help new riders, and Intermediates to grow at a gradual and comfortable pace, we may need to have more class times and class offerings than the average Indoor Cycling Program has to offer. Then there are those times when you either can't get any instructor to teach, or you can't get more than a few riders to ride. We provide cutting edge technology to augment our live classes with Digital Classes, which are Instructor lead classes via Video. These are conducted by some of the best Indoor Cycling instructors in the industry, from literally all over the world and The Road MapTM makes good use of them.

Virtual Cycling Is Fun & Great Training

While even the non-cyclist can easily find the joy in riding through Italy or along the coast of Hawaii, the training benefits when coached properly can equal or exceed any traditional Indoor Cycling class.

This may be the most under utilized training tool in the industry to date, but The Road MapTM provides just the right mix of both traditional instructor led classes as well a great mix of digital classes and virtual rides. The Road Map™ provides this variety, challenge and freshness for members and instructors alike.

Measure It, Improve It

It is a saying often heard in business, and easily demonstrated in sports and fitness: "If you can measure it, you can improve it." If the technology does anything, it does measurement. This is how our students or members get stronger, more fit, able to lose weight, exceed personal bests, and enjoy performance improvements indoors and out. If science is our bedrock, this is the cement that holds that science accountable for the results we demand. We provide clubs and individuals with Ride JournalTM, a very simple yet powerful web application that takes data from their Indoor Cycling ride and uploads the data for immediate tracking. This provides the "stickiness" that keeps people coming back.

Workshops Are Vital To Growth

Any complete Indoor Cycling program must have on-going education built in. Think of workshops like group personal training. The value of individual attention and more focused education leads to more commitment and better results.

Investing time and money into ones training will broaden the experience for both the students and the instructors. Unless we continue to grow in our sport or discipline, we will stagnate and it will become old and stale. The Road MapTM emphasizes the importance of Workshops to keep us engaged, educated and enthusiastic.

The Road MapTM Offers New Opportunity

Without The Road MapTM, bikes typically have no training tools, members do not have level specific classes, Digital Classes don’t exist, Virtual Cycling is seldom if ever offered, and workshops are only offered at independent Cycling Studios. This is why Cycling Fusion creates a revenue stream from an otherwise “expense only” program. When all of these enhanced services reverse the typical scenario, there is clear justification for a membership premium of some kind and additional fees for designated workshops beyond the regular class schedule. This is further insured by the outdoor cycling community being targeted and drawn to the facility because of the comprehensive program that speaks their language. Especially during the off-season, this group is likely spending more time and money trying to stay motivated and in tune with their sport at home, as they would be with a club offering The Road MapTM. Once they experience the value, convenience and improvements that Cycling FusionTM delivers, they will likely become loyal member for life.
