Can You Say Free PR?

It makes perfect sense when you think about it. Media coverage in almost any form, from local town newsletters or flyers, to city wide news papers, to local TV stations - they are all looking for the "next big thing". By in large, they are compelled to find something new and different to report on almost every day. That's a tall order to accomplish day in and day out. With the holidays coming up, and the inevitable "New Years Resolutions" that follow, the timeliness of an article or TV story regarding Winter Training makes for interesting reading or viewing.

To that end, a number of our sites have secured some excellent coverage from their local media sources. Last year much of the coverage was after we began (as is shown by the video here). However, the real trick is trying to get some of that coverage before the program begins, to help each facility sell out their available seats.

Colorado's Partner In Ski Country

Jackie Wright seems to be the type of individual that relishes a challenge. Just when I've been told about the 1000th time that Winter Training for cyclists wouldn't fly in Colorado - especially in the mountains - here comes Jackie Wright ready to prove them all wrong. If the mere act of moving forward without having the "ideal environment" (she also didn't have a 10 foot screen or projector yet) wasn't enough, now she's gone and gotten the local media to take notice too. Can you say "Impressive"!?!

I'm sure that Jackie will be willing to share her story with us on how this came about, and hopefully other clubs and studios can follow suit. Click on the picture to the right to read the article.
